Travis Yantes – CEO & Lead Behavioral Trainer in Houston
Previous Owner of Lone Star Dog Training
I have decided to take my dreams/passion of working with dogs to the next level by becoming a professional dog trainer and owning my own business. I have been around dogs my entire life and have been training dog since I was a little boy. My professional career was in the oil and gas for 11 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration concentrated in Project Management along with an associated degree in construction management. I work for Fluor for 6 years and Bp for another 6 years. My last year with bp the economy was struggling. The oil and gas busniess were all taking a major hit and 3-4 thousand people were laid off. I just so happen to be one of those, thank goodness I started my dog training busniess on a part time bases in the evening and on weekends. Since then, I have never looked back, and I am very grateful for starting my dog training business when I did. Now we come highly recommended by others.
I discovered there is nothing more rewarding than helping other people and their canine companions. That is was I have changed my company name to Trusted Companion Dog Training A Companion You Can Trust.
My professional dog training career all started when I was Introduce to John Van Olden of Canine Trade Group. John has more than 30 years of experience training dogs which began in the military and continued to grow as he started the very first dog training franchise in the country, K-9 Advantage, becoming one of the earliest members of the International Association of Canine Professionals, eventually serving on their Board of Directors. John is a recognized and respected member of the canine professional community, and the president of Canine Trade Group. He started this company in 2010 to providing professional development, peer support, administrative, marketing and back office support for an exclusive network of invited professional dog trainers, who are all highly successful, independent, business owners. This is where my first business started as Lone Star Dog Training. I was certified by Canine Trade Group.
Since then, I am now a certified CGC Evaluator for the AKC, through that I can administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program, CGC, AKC Community Canine (the advanced level of CGC), Urban CGC and Trick Dog tests.
I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you with your canine companion. Just know you do not have to live with your dogs’ bad behaviors, and we are here to help.
When I am not training dogs, I love to fish and be in the outdoors. I love to go duck hunting and watch the sun come up. I have 2 dogs of my own, one is a black lab and I also have a 100lbs Goldendoodle. These dogs are amazing and one of my favorites. Although one of my favorites dogs to train are GSD’s. Well, I love to entertain people, and some say that my BBQ is amazing. So, when I am not doing these activities, you can find me either by a fire or by the smokers.
Tiffany Dawson – Lead Service Dog Trainer / Behavioral Trainer in San Antonio
My passion for dogs is growing into my career. I am located in the South San Antonio/Floresville area. I have four dogs of my own; a Pitbull, Border Collie, Australian Shepherd and German Shepherd. I have been training dogs in basic obedience, reactivity/fear, aggression, public access training, and task training. I also provide dog walking (pack walks), and provide dog boarding. I believe in positive reinforcement training and have learned many different techniques as all dogs respond differently making me a balanced dog trainer.
I learned and worked with Kelly at The Service Dog Connection, previously Central Coast Dog Services. Kelly taught me positive reinforcement as well as how to train service dogs. Kelly and I still work together when she has a high demand of people who need service dogs and I have dogs trained to pass the ADI Public Access test.
I have completed the Learn to Lead course taught by world renowned Cheri Wulff Lucas. She is known for working with Cesar Millan and being the ultimate alpha-female.
It is essential for owners to be apart of their dogs training. Not only does this create a stronger bond, this ensures the dogs training will be reinforced so you can have a harmonious relationship. Consistency is key!
I love caring and connecting with animals and creating everlasting relationships. I strive to provide care for your dog(s) as if they were my own, and ensure that they receive the highest quality care and training.
We believe that training is important for a well behave companion and if you keep up with your companion training then your companion will stay in the home forever.
